We serve South San Jose, Morgan Hill, San Martin, Gilroy, and the East Hills area. If you're close to any of those — say, Los Gatos, Campbell, or Hollister-adjacent — get in touch and we'll let you know honestly whether we can help.
Colonization means the bees become yours. We install the colony and equipment on your property, and you own everything going forward. Hive hosting means the bees and equipment stay ours. You provide the space, we provide the bees and all the labor, and you get a share of the honey as part of the arrangement.
When a colony is sited correctly and managed responsibly, yes. Honey bees are not aggressive by default — they are focused on collecting nectar and pollen and generally ignore people unless the hive itself is being disturbed. We place every hive with your household, neighbors, and foot traffic in mind.
If there's a known bee-sting allergy in the household, be upfront about it during our site walk. In most cases we can still site a colony safely, but occasionally we'll recommend against it. We'll always tell you honestly.
No. That's the whole point. You don't feed them, inspect them, or interact with them. We handle everything. You're welcome to watch or ask questions any time we're on site.
Inspections follow the colony's needs, not a fixed schedule. During active season — roughly March through October — that typically means every two to four weeks. In winter, inspections are less frequent and gentler. If the bees need us more often, we come more often.
Yes. Every jar we sell was produced by our own hives inside Santa Clara County. We don't blend with outside honey and we don't import. We can tell you which apiary any jar came from.
Most grocery-store honey is ultra-filtered and often heated, which removes pollen, flattens flavor, and gives it a uniform appearance. Our honey is raw and only lightly strained, which means you get the real flavor of the flowers the bees worked — and that flavor changes from season to season and location to location.
Yes. If a swarm shows up on your property, call us before you call an exterminator. We can usually come the same day during active season, capture the swarm safely, and relocate it to one of our apiary sites. This service is especially important for honey bees, which are a protected pollinator.
Yes. All of our apiary sites are registered through California's BeeWhere system, as state law requires. We carry liability insurance and are happy to provide proof of coverage on request, especially for farm, vineyard, and commercial clients.
Absolutely. Honey sales are open to anyone. Reach out through the contact form or visit us at the local retailers and farm stands we supply. We'll list current stockists on the website as the product line rolls out.
Fill out the intake form on the Get Started page, or call or text. We'll follow up to set a no-cost site walk (for colonization and hosting) or confirm availability (for honey orders). From there, everything moves at your pace.
Beekeeping is living work. Colonies can fail for reasons outside anyone's control — bad weather, disease pressure, queen issues. If a colony we installed fails within its first season due to something we could have prevented, we'll replace it. We'll always tell you plainly what happened and what our part in it was.
